In Store Warranty Policy

(Note:  Manufacturers warranty typically lasts between one and three years on many components.  Please refer to the appropriate page at the manufacturers site for more details regarding extended warranties.)

SOFTWARE:

                            a. Unopened Software- may be returned within 30 days of purchase.

                            b. Opened Software- may be returned within 30 days only if it is defective.

                                Defective software will be replaced with an identical title.

HARDWARE:

b. New Hardware- Bits -N- Bytes warrantees both parts and labor for a period of 90 days from the sale date for any component installed by our staff. Any hardware found to be defective due to customer negligence may not be returned or exchanged under any circumstances. This determination will be at the sole discretion of Bits -N- Bytes staff.

c. Memory- modules installed by Bits -N- Bytes are guaranteed for life. Installation is FREE. Memory sold over the counter may not be returned under any circumstances.

d. Processors- Processors sold over the counter may not be returned under any circumstances.

e. New Computer Systems- Bits -N- Bytes warrantees all new computers against manufacturer defect for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty covers both parts and labor. Software problems may be subject to our normal hourly billing schedule. 4 years of warranty protection (both parts and labor) is available for an additional 15% of computer cost (minimum charge $129.99)

f. Used Hardware- Bits-N-Bytes does not warrant any used hardware. There will be no returns of used hardware in any case.

SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS: There are no refunds on special order items, all applicable shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not subject to any refund of any kind.

Laptop and Monitor Service:  A disassembly fee of $50 will be charged for all service work done on Laptop computers and Monitors.  This fee is not refundable and does not include reassembly of the equipment.

 

Electronic components (memory, main boards, cpu, etc.) covered under Bits-N-Bytes warranty will be tested by Bits-N-Bytes staff. Removal of components by anyone other than Bits-N-Bytes staff will void warranty. Defective merchandise covered by Bits-N-Bytes warranty will be repaired, replaced, or refunded, at the sole discretion of Bits -N- Bytes staff.

 

The original store receipt is required for all returns or exchanges. All returns will be subject to 100% store credit or cash back less a 15% restocking fee. All returns must be made within 30 days of purchase.

 

Computers at Bits-N-Bytes will be stored at no additional fee for a period of 10 days. After this period a storage charge of $2.00 per day will apply.

 

LAYAWAYS:

a.        Layaways can be held for a period of 10 weeks

b.        require a 10% down payment and successive payments of no less than 10% per week

c.        Layaways are non-refundable
